2022 Eagle Track Preseason Conditioning
Starting Tuesday, February 1, there will be a few track preseason conditioning days. The purpose of the conditioning days are to prepare athletes for the upcoming track season. Any/all athletes are invited to participate. Participation in preseason conditioning is NOT required for participation during the track season, but is recommended.
Preseason Days:
Week One: Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday Feb. 3
Week Two: Tuesday, Feb. 8 and Thursday, Feb. 10
Week Three: Tuesday, Feb. 15 and Wednesday, Feb. 16
Time: TBD. Meet in the Oak Canyon Junior High Weight Room.
Workouts: Come sprint, run distance, or practice field events
2022 Eagle Track Season officially begins on Wednesday, February 23
At this point, permission forms, physical forms, and $25 participation fee will be required. They MUST be turned in before participation at the first track meet.
2022 Eagle Track Meets
Generally, four (4) dual meets will be scheduled each year. Meets will be scheduled in the last few weeks of March and through April.

2022 Alpine Days District Championship Meet
Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20 @ Mountain View High School
Athletes must qualify for this final meet.
General Meet Events Schedule
Running events usually start at 3:00 in the following order (subject to slight changes at away meets).
100m (7th girls, 7th boys, 8th girls, 8th boys, 9th girls, 9th boys)
1600m (either run in two heats - all boys and all girls, or three heats by grade level)
4x100m relay (all girls teams; all boys teams)
400m (7th girls, 7th boys, 8th girls, 8th boys, 9th girls, 9th boys)
800m (either run in two heats - all boys and all girls, or three heats by grade level)
200m (7th girls, 7th boys, 8th girls, 8th boys, 9th girls, 9th boys)
3200m (9th grade boys and girls combined)
4x400m relay (all girls teams; all boys teams)
Field Events start at 2:45
(High Jump: Girls, then Boys Long Jump: Boys, then Girls Shot Put: Girls, then Boys)
2022 Oak Canyon Practice Schedule:

Notes:
1) Sprints, Distance, Jumps, and Shot Put will meet on all days.
2) If you are competing in multiple events, work with your coaches to decide on which days you should practice each event.
3) We are happy to work with athletes competing in other sports, such as soccer or baseball. If you are competing in another sport, work with your coaches to decide the best days for you to train for track.
Oak Canyon Eagle Track Events
Distance: 800m, 1600m (7th, 8th, and 9th), 3200m (9th grade only)
*** All are welcome and encouraged to participate. In meets, we have unlimited entries in these events.
Sprints: 100m, 200m, 400m
*** All are welcome to participate. In meets, we have limited entries - usually 4 per grade, per gender, per meet
Relays: 4x100m 4x400m
*** Will be limited to the fastest participants
Field Events: Shot Put, High Jump, Long Jump
*** All are welcome to participate. In meets, have limited entries - usually 6 entries per grade, per gender, per meet
***all athletes compete against those in their grade level and gender categories.
Eligibility Requirements:
* $25 participation fee paid to the Financial Office
You may pay this fee in one of two ways:
1) Visit the Oak Canyon website and pay online.
2) Bring payment to the Oak Canyon Financial Office. Coaches cannot accept payments.
* At least a 2.0 GPA with no more than one F grade in 3rd quarter (District Requirement)
* Permission formed signed each year (see attachment)
* Physical form on file at school (physical must be within the last year)
You may submit your permission forms and physicals in any of the following ways:

Note: The Parent Consent Form (Front Side) and Physical Form (Back Side) are part of the same document (attached at the bottom of this page). The Parent Consent Form (Front) and Signature on the back MUST BE SIGNED EACH YEAR. The PHYSICAL FORM (Back) must be filled out by a doctor if the student DOES NOT have a physical on file at the school. SOME participants already have a physical on file at the school.
