Teaching Philosophy
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
Everybody should do their best and ask questions when they don't understand! Wrong answers are ok! We learn by asking questions.
Never doubt yourself. Even if it takes time or help, you will be able to do it!
Rules should always be followed! Remember to check the wall if you can't remember what they are.
I believe that every student should feel like they are in a place that they belong. I hope that as time goes on each student will see the friendships they have made in class and find those that need more friends. I hope that students will see that I want them to succeed and I will always be here to help them. Students should remember that their success in school depends on them and their attitude. If they believe in themselves they will accomplish much more than they imagined they could. We as human beings are not the best at everything. Everybody has their own talents and their own faults. It is important that we learn from our faults and make the best of them. We can always learn from our mistakes. If students stay positive they are going to accomplish more things and they will have a better self esteem. Self esteem is very important at a young age. I hope that through my class I will be able to teach the students to do their best and make the best of what they have accomplished. Nobody is perfect and if you have tried your hardest, that is all that matters.
It is important that students are always learning in my class. I hope that the students will be able to stay engaged through activities and other types of lessons: because of this I avoid lecturing through my lessons. It is more fun to participate and interact with the class. Students learn better when they are engaged and having fun rather than if they are bored. Learning should be fun. Students need a positive attitude to help make it fun and they should always look on the bright side.
It is my hope that students will make friends that they can rely on and help throughout the year. It is so much easier to make it through hard things when someone is with you! I hope that our class will have that friendship that will help them be more willing to help each other through school. Classmates are only their until the end of the school year but friend will be there forever.
All of this being said, parents, they can't do this without you! Please help your students learn to love learning. They may need some help on homework and occasionally some positive reinforcement: how you react to their accomplishments and struggles will affect how they do in school! Please help me in making this a positive year for your student!
