1-3 years of funding for Ph.D. student to join Indigenizing Salmon Management in Alaska team
The goal of the Indigenizing Salmon Management project is to use a deeply participatory approach to document the breadth and depth of Indigenous values, knowledge, and management systems connected to salmon across Alaska and to use this wisdom to inform current salmon governance in Alaska. We are seeking an Alaska Native Ph.D. student (current or prospective) to join our team. Students could pursue their Ph.D. studies in Indigenous Studies or Fisheries at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Student must be based in Alaska, but location is flexible. Students must be willing to travel to rural communities across Alaska. We offer 1-3 years of funding (tuition, stipend, and benefits). Expected start date is fall 2018 or spring 2019.
