Golf is different from other sports in that the line-ups can (and will) change from day to day. Coaches will do their best to give each player the opportunity to play in at least 3 matches. Only 6 players will play in each varsity or JV match. Players might only get one or two days notice if they are playing in a match. If a player decides to turn down an offer to play in a match, they won't be guaranteed the chance to "make up" that date.
Players:
If you are going to be gone for a match, let your teachers know and do your best to touch base with them about missing work. Missing school for golf doesn't excuse you from turning in work those days. (i.e. you had two weeks to do a paper and it's due the day of a match. get it turned in!)
We will coordinate the shirts and pants/shorts we will wear for the day. When in doubt, text your teammates. Wear the "uniform" to school. Cold days are the exception: function is more important than fashion when it's cold / rainy.
The front office will have a list of excused golfers so you aren't marked absent. Don't abuse the privilege of being dismissed early.
We will meet at the flagpoles so we can be rolling at the bus time. Don't be late. Coaches are ok with leaving and playing with less than 6.
We will drop off players at the flagpoles if their parents are picking them up.

Parents are welcome at all of our matches!!! A few suggestions / rules:
Come to watch at least once before we get into section play. It helps to work out the wrinkles so your player isn't distracted in state tournament play.
Download the MSHSL Golf Scoring app ahead of time. Your player should be listed along with the hole they are playing.
When following groups, keep up with the group, stay to the side in the rough and stay 30 yards from all the players. Let the coaches know if other parents aren't doing this and we will address the problem with the other coaches or parents.
Encouraging your player is ok, but you cannot give them any golf-specific advice.
