About Us

Legacy's Anime Club has been around for more than fifteen years, and we're one of the biggest clubs at Legacy High School. We have participated in many Legacy club activities such as Trick-or-Treat street and Silent Auction.

We watch Anime (in Japanese with subtitles), have event days, and drawing contests.

Our sponsor, Scott Semple, lived in Japan for almost 4 years, speaks the language, and has a great appreciation for the culture of Japan, including Anime.

General FAQs

What is Anime?

Anime is practically any type of animation that has some sort of origin from Japan.

In reality, it really means the many cartoons that are locally produced, televised, and distributed in Japan. In most cases, most successful anime are also localized (notice: this is not a translation), where they translated to make sense in English, dubbed with English voice actors and possibly modify to deem the anime more acceptable with a English audience. There are many, MANY genres of anime out there, but we'll talk about that later.

Why should I join an Anime club?

It is really all up to you if you want to join an anime club or not. If you are a big fan of anime, can comfortably talk about it to others in a local setting, and can accept others based on their viewpoints regarding anime or other possible points of conflict that may or may not spark into a big/lengthy argument, then anime club is the place for you!

Also colleges such as CU Boulder, Harvard, MIT, CSM, and UMASS have anime clubs/societies.

Again, up to you in the end.

What's the weird looking icon on the top of the site?

Uhhh...I just combined Legacy's logo with the NERV logo from Evangelion.

What anime does that quote on top of the site come from?

Neon Genesis Evangelion. Episode 26. (Or was it 25?)
