Meet the Teachers

Hello!

My name is Loring Bobart and I am the Team 2, 4th Grade ELA/Science Teacher. This is my 2nd year at Jones, and I love it! I am a proud graduate from the University of South Carolina, and frequently go to football games in the fall. I previously taught in Charleston, SC for 7 years teaching 5th Grade and Columbia, SC for a year as an interventionist. I love teaching 4th Grade here in Asheville. In my free time, my husband and I like to hike and hang out in downtown Asheville. We have a dog, Normand, who loves to hike too! We also love to travel, and spend our summers globe trotting everywhere we can!

My name is Dusty Fox and I'm am the Team 1, 4th Grade ELA/Science Teacher. I have been at Jones for 4 years, first as a 4/5 grade TA and teaching fourth grade for the last 3 years. I started my college years at University of Arizona and continued on to New York University where I earned by Master's in English Education. My family moved to Asheville 4 years ago from New Jersey/New York and we couldn't be happier! My husband, Ken, is an artist in the River Arts District and our daughter Poppy is a fifth grader at Jones. The three of us and our dog Rosy enjoy all that Asheville and WNC have to offer! We love the outdoors, culture, music, and community here. My family spends the summer at a sleepaway camp in New York where we work hard and play hard! Thank you for sharing your children with us - we wouldn't want to be anywhere but Jones!

My name is Jessica Howard, I'm am the Team 2, 4th Grade Math and Social Studies Teacher. This is my second year at Jones, and I am so happy to be here. I dreamed of becoming a teacher as a child, and I went to Mars Hill University to make that dream a reality. My family and I, enjoy living in North Carolina. My sons attend Reynolds High School, currently as a sophomore and junior. We stay busy with school and work, however we enjoy riding dirt bikes, hiking, camping, and many other things together. I personally love to draw and do other crafty things. I enjoy teaching, and have a passion for Mathematics knowledge.

We spend a lot of time together with them behind the wheel. Me giving driving lessons to Troy and Wyatt!

My name is Katlyn Hughes and I’m the Team 1 fourth grade math and social studies teacher. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Elementary Education, with a focus in math and science. I then taught for 3 years at Centennial Elementary School in Dade City, Florida. When my husband and I moved to Asheville in 2015, I began teaching at Bethel Elementary School in Canton. This is my first year teaching at Jones and my 7th year teaching 4th grade, and I love every minute of it! I’m also the head coach of Jones Elementary’s Science Olympiad team. When I’m not at Jones, I like to go hiking around western North Carolina with my husband and friends. My husband, Jordan, and I are proud dog-parents to a chihuahua-dachshund mix named Kevin Bacon Hughes.
