Annunciation Catholic School
Frequently-Asked Questions
My family is not Catholic. Can my child still attend ACS?
The term ‘catholic’ means universal. This means that all are welcome, and all are loved. We are proud of our catholicity, and our love of Jesus Christ permeates all that we do. The majority of our students are not Catholic. All students attend weekly Mass.
When is registration?
New student registration is March 2-April 1, 2026. Students may register after April 1 with an increase in the cost. We are an intentionally small school, so in some classes space is extremely limited. Parents must be enrolled in FACTS by April 13, 2026.
Does the school provide scholarships?
Annunciation Catholic School is a part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and there are several scholarships available to our students because of this. Aspiring Scholars, ACE, and Champions of Catholic Education are examples of avenues of obtaining scholarship funds. There are strict application deadlines associated with these entities. Annunciation Catholic Church may be able to assist active Catholic families with tuition in case of financial hardship. The school itself does not have a scholarship program.
What about vouchers?
Annunciation was a part of the Louisiana Scholarship Program for many years until it transitioned into the Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise (LA GATOR) school choice program. This program provides an education savings account (ESA) for parents. Qualifying families can use these funds for private school tuition. This program has strict application windows as well.
Is the tuition expensive?
A detailed list of financial obligations is available through our school office, but ACS remains extremely competitive with area private schools. Our families do not incur multiple extra fees, and there is no monetary requirement for fundraising. There is a discount for multiple children. Parents have the option of paying in full; paying at the beginning of the school year and in January, or paying monthly. Monthly payments begin in June each year.
Is there a long list of school supplies that I will have to purchase for my student?
Our teachers purchase their school supplies for their classes, so parents do not have to shop around to find items or to find items on sale- our teachers do that for you. Parents are charged through incidental fees.
Is it true that the school does not provide any academic adjustments for students who qualify?
This is not true. At ACS, we provide the best possible academic environment for our students. Though we are not required to provide any accommodations, and parents do acknowledge this in documentation upon acceptance to the school, our teachers do, in fact, employ methods needed for student success to the best of their ability. All student progress is reviewed individually by academic and faculty committees to ensure that if needs can be met, they are to the best of our ability.
