Based on Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Theatre
- Basic theatre vocabulary
- Introduction to theatre history and how it contributes to modern-day theatre
- Movement: how to communicate with body language
- Subtext: how you say the words means more than what is being said
- Working with scene partners: listening, responding
Constructive Feedback/Critical response:
- Using the above acting concepts effectively communicate feedback to
- Understand the purpose and function of stage directions as well as the vocabulary used in stage directions
- Note how dialogue develops both plot and character
- Identify plot lines in plays and note parallels between dramatic structure and and the structure of other forms of literature (i.e. short stories and novels)
