Through the years we have found that there has been a significant increase in STEAM culture in the school and we attribute this to a great extent to our annual STEAM Fest event.
The event is open to students across Primary and Secondary and also includes winning projects from the 6th and 7th grade Science Fair. Special guests including schools and organisations around the country also attend as part of the STEAM Fest community outreach initiative.
During this one day event staff and students from the Primary and Secondary schools come together to participate as exhibitors, workshop leaders, supervisors and visitors along with other local schools and organisations that are invited to take part.
Projects are student directed and supervised by a member of staff and must demonstrate elements of 2 or more from the following disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. In the months leading up to STEAM Fest, supervisors and students work closely to ensure their projects are on track and ready for the even when the time comes. Guidance is provided to support both students and supervisors
The day is an explosion of creativity and innovation.
*Due to parking and space restrictions we stream the entire event live on the ABC Facebook page as parking and exhibition space availability impede us from inviting the parent community.
