About Ms. Savatski

I am proud to be a teacher in the Appleton Area School District. During my time at Berry Elementary, I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grades. When I came to AASD, I was a teacher in the district's Gifted and Talented program. Janet Berry was one of the three schools I served as a TAG teacher, and I liked the setting so much that I secured a classroom teaching position in the building.

I earned a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education at UW-Whitewater, and a

Masters Degree in Educational Psychology at UW-Madison.

Besides teaching elementary students, I also lead teacher staff development sessions in a variety of settings. In the last four years, I have presented sessions on "Literacy, Science, and Technology" at conferences in Nashville, Los Angeles, and Milwaukee.

I also teach a course at Concordia University called "Analysis of Teaching and Assessment".

From 2015 through 2017 I was a faculty member with the National Science Teachers Association, helping to lead teacher academies on math and science instruction around the country during the summer months.

In the Spring of 2019 I was honored to be selected as a Herb Kohl Teacher Fellow. To find out more, click this link.

In 2021 I was selected as the Appleton Area School District's Elementary Educator of the Year! I truly love being a teacher!

You also might see me volunteering at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center! I am a member of the Educator Ambassador Committee at the PAC, helping to select upcoming shows for teachers and students.

In my free time I like to golf, bike, garden, read, tinker with technology, and travel to new places!

I also like to spend time with family and friends, and with my dog Murphy.
