Mr. Stratton skied a handful of times as an elementary student but fell in love with snowboarding as a sophomore in high school. After purchasing his first board from the back of a classmate's car and teaching himself to ride on a local hill, he fell in love with alpine sports. In college, Mr. Stratton began working at a ski and snowboard shop, both selling and tuning skis and snowboards. As a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Mr. Stratton created the Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding class and continues to teach it every January and February. Currently, Mr. Stratton and his family have a season pass at Nordic Mountain, and he is refining his skills on his skis so that he can keep up with his five and six-year-old sons while they tear down the slopes. He is excited to take a leading role as a Ski and Snowboard club advisor at Appleton East. You can contact Mr. Stratton by emailing him at strattonchrist@aasd.k12.wi.us .

Mr. Johnson started skiing at a young age but fell in love with the idea of having both feet secure to one plank in early high school. He has been riding his snowboard ever since. From the icy slopes of Granite Peak and White Cap to the powder of Vail, Mr. Johnson loves going fast and carving clean. He ran the Ski and Snowboard Club at his previous high school for 6 years and took 13 of that crew to Colorado for a week-long trip in 2016. He'll need to shake off the rust of two skipped seasons but his edges are sharp and his skills are still there. You can contact Mr. Johnson by emailing him at johnsonriley@aasd.k12.wi.us .
