Hello 👋 ,
My name is Maria, but my close friends and family call me Azun. Short for my middle name, Asuncion! 8-Z00n was my "tagger" name, (Yes, I was and still am very into hip-hop but NO I never vandalized).
My designs and creativity started back in 4th grade around 1998. When my father taught me about woodworking, soccer and computer skills. My mother taught me hand embroidery, fashion and crafts.
In my 20's I took a sewing class and began making costumes for people and custom apparel. Then in my 30's I got myself a Silhouette Cameo (Like a Cricut) and began custom making T-shirts.
Every item, website, garment or accessory made fills me with joy and even more when the receiver is happy and amazed with it! So I kept on going with my hobby for free, my friends and family just paid for the materials and I experimented through trial and error until I succeeded at the item/project. This became my hobby and therapy for many years as soccer was no longer an option in my life.
However, in year 2020 life took a small turn and I had to make my hobby into a side-hustle and it wasn't too hard at all since I love what I do! So here it is my back story on my products and services. I do a lot of everything from custom epoxy tumblers and mugs, T-Shirts and signs, websites and resume portfolios, but my favorite that I absolutely love is sewing!
When I make my products you'll see that safety and multi-use are my main priorities. That is why my masks were top quality and baby gear as well! As a mom who used to work for Public Health having top quality products is important and if I can help a situation I will, no hesitation. As a caring person who currently works for the Child Abuse Prevention Council it is important to me that I not make products that may put them in danger, no matter how cute those crib pillows are.
So here is my story and of how I founded this side hustle in August 2020 as a humble small start-up built by word-of-mouth through a network of friends and family.
