Write Together is our field trips program, which takes place weekday mornings. Whether in our Secret Library or held virtually, we build a safe and creative space for both imaginative learning and standards-based skill reinforcement. After just ninety minutes, students have completed a book—a picture book, a group memoir—with renewed confidence in their ability to read and write. Afterward, volunteers illustrate the stories and the class is sent their bound book.
How can students Write Together? Storytelling & Bookmaking (grades 1-4), The Multiverse of Storytelling (grades 5-8), Choose Your Own Adventure (grades 6-9), and ( Memoir Writing (grades 7-12)
Write Together takes place during the school year (and sometimes during the summer!). To hear updates about this program, make sure that you are subscribed to our volunteer newsletter.
