Hoogs at Home is a trading name of 7 Purple Feathers Ltd. By approving an estimate or settling an invoice, you (the "Client") agree to the following terms and conditions for the care of your cat(s).
1. The Service & Duties
Visit Duration: I aim for approximately 30 minutes per visit. This is "cat-dependent"—if your cat is social, we will spend that time playing and cuddling; if they are shy or prefer their own space, I will focus on their essential needs and safety while respecting their boundaries.
Standard Duties: Each visit includes feeding, providing fresh water, and cleaning/scooping litter trays (if required)
Optional Duties (May Include): At your request and where time permits, visits may also include:
Administering agreed-upon medication.
Basic grooming (brushing).
Picking up post/parcels and putting bins out.
Alternating lights or curtains to give the home a "lived-in" look.
Watering a small number of indoor plants.
2. Booking, Payment & Fees
Booking Confirmation: A booking is officially confirmed and your dates secured in my diary once you have replied ‘Approved’ to the estimate provided.
Payment Deadline: Invoices must be settled in full no later than 24 hours prior to the sit start date. I reserve the right to cancel the booking if payment is not received by this deadline.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations (More than 24 hours' notice): If you cancel your booking more than 24 hours before the start date, a full refund will be issued, less a 5% cancellation fee to cover non-refundable transaction and administration costs.
Cancellations (On the start date): If you cancel on the day the sit is due to start, an 80% refund will be issued.
Refund Processing: All eligible refunds will be processed within 3 working days of the cancellation being confirmed.
Early Returns: Once a sit has commenced, no refunds are issued for early returns or shortened trips.
4. Home Access & Key Management
Key Collection: The method for key collection must be agreed upon prior to the sit start date (e.g., during the Meet & Greet or via a secure key safe).
Return of Keys: Unless otherwise agreed, keys will be posted through your letterbox on the last day of the scheduled sit. Please note that once keys are posted, I no longer have access to the property.
Key Retention Policy: For security and insurance reasons, I do not hold onto client keys between bookings. The only exception is if a subsequent booking starts within 2 days of the current sit ending.
Access Issues: If your return home is delayed and keys have already been returned via the letterbox, I will be unable to perform additional emergency visits unless a spare set is accessible via a neighbor or external key safe.
5. Health, Safety & Liability
Veterinary Care: In the event of illness or injury, I will attempt to contact you immediately. If you are unreachable, I am authorised to take your cat to your named vet (or the nearest emergency vet). All veterinary fees are the responsibility of the owner.
Outdoor Access: Hoogs at Home cannot be held liable for cats that have outdoor access (via cat flaps or open windows) while the owner is away.
Third Parties: Hoogs at Home is not liable for loss or damage to the property caused by other third parties with home access (e.g., cleaners, gardeners, or other key holders) during the sitting period.
Insurance: Hoogs at Home is fully insured for Public Liability and the Care, Custody, and Control of animals.
