MEET JOSH JACKSON

For Josh Jackson, baseball has always been about more than the game.

Josh grew up in Lake Los Angeles, a small desert community outside Palmdale, California. Like many young ballplayers, his journey began on local recreational fields in the community’s PONY Baseball program.

What started on those fields eventually carried him through high school, junior college, collegiate baseball, nationally recognized postseason competition and the California Collegiate League.

After earning First-Team All-League recognition during his junior and senior seasons at Littlerock High School, Josh continued his career at Antelope Valley College. He became one of the program’s most productive hitters and established himself among the leading players in the school’s record book.

His performance at Antelope Valley College earned him the opportunity to continue his career at Fresno Pacific University.

That opportunity did much more than extend his time as a player.

IT BROUGHT HIM TO THE CENTRAL VALLEY—AND CHANGED HIS LIFE.

At Fresno Pacific, Josh competed as a catcher and helped the Sunbirds reach the NAIA Region II playoffs and the 2009 NAIA World Series.

During his junior season, Josh hit .364 with 64 hits, 14 doubles, seven home runs and 37 RBI. His performance earned him recognition as the 2008 ABCA/Rawlings NAIA Region II First-Team All-Region Catcher.

Across his two seasons at Fresno Pacific, Josh played in 100 games and recorded 99 hits, 25 doubles, 14 home runs and 62 RBI while producing a .988 career fielding percentage.

Josh also spent two summers playing for the San Luis Obispo Rattlers in the California Collegiate League, one of the premier collegiate summer baseball leagues in the country.

He was named the 2008 All-California Collegiate League First-Team Catcher and received the Rattlers’ Outstanding Hitting Award. In 2009, he was selected as the CCL All-League Catcher, rated the league’s Best Defensive Catcher and finished tied for the league’s Best Catcher’s Arm honor. He also earned CCL All-Star recognition.

But the most important thing the Central Valley gave Josh wasn’t baseball.

IT’S WHERE HE MET HIS WIFE, SARAH.

Josh and Sarah have now been married for more than 14 years and are raising their three children—Korbin, Kaden and Kapri—with the same values that have become central to 6 Tool Sports Academy.

A CAREER MOMENT IN LEWISTON

On April 10, 2009, Josh hit a one-out home run in the top of the ninth inning to give Fresno Pacific a 5–4 victory over Lewis-Clark State at Harris Field.

The home run ended Lewis-Clark State’s 11-game winning streak and was featured by the Lewiston Morning Tribune under the headline:

“SUNBIRDS, WARRIORS TRADE ONE-RUN VICTORIES”

Today, Josh brings those experiences into his work with athletes at 6 Tool Sports Academy.

His approach is not centered solely on producing better hitters, catchers or baseball players. It is about helping young athletes learn how to work, how to compete, how to respond to failure and how to become better teammates and people.

Josh believes meaningful player development includes preparing athletes for success beyond the field. The lessons learned through competition—discipline, accountability, resilience, confidence and service—can influence a young person long after the final game has been played.

That philosophy fits directly into what 6 Tool represents:
