Scouts

Scouts are the oldest section in the group, aged between 10½ and 14 years old. During their time at Scouts, young people are given a wealth of experiences, that give them the opportunity to explore their personality, interests and faiths. They’ll learn independence as well as a huge number of other skills through a programme of regular activities and adventures.

Our Scout troop meets on a Tuesday between 20:00-21:15.

The Scout section has 73 Activity badges available to it’s members covering topics such as PR, Street Sports, Survival Skills and DIY, with the possibility of gaining instructors awards for some of these. On top of all of these, there’s still challenge awards, partnership awards and of course the staged badges.

With this number of badges, the Scouts will need to do some work at home if they plan to achieve even a small percentage of what’s available. It’s worth checking out what’s required for each badge and where it goes when it’s completed.

Scout Uniform

Scouts require the Green Scout Shirt as uniform the scout trousers are an optional extra.  Scout/School trousers or skirts should be worn for Church Parades or official events, but at weekly meetings anything is acceptable.  They are given their group scarf, woggle and three initial uniform badges at investiture.

The other badges we earn during our weekly meetings but remember you can always earn badges at home - follow the badges at home scheme on Online Scout manager !
