Welcome!

I'm so glad to have you here at MHS! I'm looking forward to getting to know each one of you this year. If you need support or help with homework, studying, or just someone to visit with or a place to decompress, please feel free to stop by and see me in Room 10.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

While I've been at MHS for the past two years serving as the Office Manager, this is my first year teaching. The best part of teaching at MHS is that I'll be joining my husband, Brad Johnston, who was hired this year to teach Social Studies at MHS.

I have three kiddos who attend school in the 509j School District - Katie and Anna, my 12-year-old twin daughters. They are 6th graders this year at JCMS, and Adam, my 8-year-old son who is in 2nd grade at Madras Elementary.

When we aren't at school, the family and I spend a lot of time being outdoors, camping and traveling. This past summer, we took our RV on the road and traveled through eight states. Our travels took us to places including Las Vegas, Yellowstone National Park, and Thermopolis, Wyoming (to dig dinosaur fossils).

My hobbies include traveling, baking, hunting, fishing, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

WHY I TEACH

Being a lifelong learner is so valuable, and I want to help instill that in you.
I want to help you achieve your goals during your high school years so that you can do whatever it is you want to do after high school.
To help educate and create an appreciation for the diversified community we live in.
I've been in public service my entire career, and my calling is to schools at this time in my life.
