About the Course

Algebra 2 is typically your third and final math credit you will earn towards graduation. This 9-week course will guide you through topics in writing and graphing linear functions, graphing and solving quadratic functions, and operations with polynomial functions. This course is divided into 6 standards and each standard is divided into several lessons. Each day together we will have a 40-minute class period and a 25 minute intervention period. During the class period we will google meet (this link is located in the google classroom) to go over the periods agenda, lesson, examples while ending with independent practice. You will be given an opportunity to ask questions in two respects; at the end of the lesson during independent work time or during your intervention hour. Homework will be assigned daily, scored, and recorded in Powerschool. Each unit will have at least one quiz (you can use notes and work with others) and end with a monitored unit test each being scored and recorded in Powerschool.

If you are interested in taking Trigonometry next year, you will be given the opportunity to earn 8 college math credits through COCC. The credits are a fraction of the price compared to taking it on campus as a high school graduate. If you are interested in moving on next year, you will need to be eligible; meaning you must earn a B or higher both terms in Algebra 2.

Attendance

You attendance is REQUIRED during the instruction period and is ENCOURAGED during the intervention hour if you are needing additional assistance or practice. Attendance will be taken daily and will be recorded in Powerschool. If you missed the instructional hour, it is your responsibility to get caught up by watching the lesson in google classroom. The intervention hour will not be used to reteach a missed lesson.
