Personal Introduction
My name is Ryan Young. I have lived in Oregon for most of my life. I grew up in Southern Oregon and moved to Central Oregon 23 years ago. My wife and I have two boys, one in college and the other a senior in high school. We have a small farm in Terrebonne and we all enjoy rodeo, fishing, hunting and any outdoor activity.
This is my 22nd year as a teacher, all in Central Oregon. I started at JCMS, taught in Culver and Redmond, and now am back where I belong; Warm Springs K-8 Academy. Throughout those 22 years, I have also coached middle school sports such as football, basketball, and wrestling.
My educational ideology is such that every person is born and put on this planet for a reason. They need guidance to become what they want to be. Not all students will fit into the cookie cutter mold expected of our educational system. As an educator, it is not acceptable to simply stand and teach, however, it is my job to dig deep to learn my students interests and strive to make learning meaningful.
