Hi, I'm Mr. Herman. I am a LOVER of English, thus a high school English teacher. I am now entering my 6th year teaching, third at MHS, and I LOVE getting to learn new things every day! I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me, probably even more.
I feel that teaching allows me, and fellow educators, to promote a Positive Tangible Change in our students (#PTC). We should always strive to be a better "US" today than we were yesterday.
"I believe that enthusiasm is infectious, and that our classrooms should feel like a full-blown escape from the everyday routine of the time-honored academic death march. They say your favorite class is the one that you like the most. And your best class is the one where you learn the most. I want my class to be both. Every. Single. Day." -John Meehan
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching from the University of Montana and my Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education and Health from the University of Montana - Western.
I am married to my beautiful wife Liz. We have two boys, Ethan and Ryder, two dogs, Brutus and Baxter, and one cat, Sassy.
I enjoy music, hiking, sports, hunting, and spending time with my family.
I have an affinity for traveling and reading. I am also a pretty big gamer, playing on XBox and Playstation.
I dig Obstacle Course Races like Spartan Races, Tough Mudders, and The Dirty Dash.
We enjoy going to sporting events, especially if it means we can support our Montana Grizzlies and Oregon Ducks! But it should go without saying, WE LOVE OUR WHITE BUFFALOS.
