Be respectful.
Just as you would in person, it’s important to always be respectful when communicating using technology. This is especially important when working in a professional or school setting (including distance learning!).
Don’t post or share inappropriate language or material.
This is never appropriate in school, so it’s definitely not okay in virtual learning.
Beware of all caps, exclamation points, and emojis.
ALL CAPS CAN MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOU’RE YELLING!!!!!!!!!!!
2️⃣ many emojis❗️is unprofessional 🙅♀️ & distracting 🤪😱😬🤭
→ Never use emojis in official school assignments.
4. Use proper spelling and grammar.
no its not ok 2 type like a txt msg! lol. jk, its srsly not funny tho…
→ This is a classroom environment. It is your job, and mine, to stay professional. It will also help me, as the teacher, understand your questions and assignments.
5. Be careful with humor and sarcasm.
Sometimes, we do like to have fun and joke around. Be careful with doing this digitally--people can often interpret a message in different way than you meant it. They might think you’re being rude instead of joking. This is the one time when using an emoji might be okay to help your message come across properly (but NOT in an assignment!). Or, make sure to state that you are teasing and not being serious.
