Intrusion
the dark sky haunts him
radiant eyes stare him down
he closes his to avoid their looks
cold sand tightly grips his hands
he lays quietly
a musky smell breaches his calm bliss
he cannot break free
his arms shackle
the night sky floods him
he shakes
the stars begin to mock
their relentless snickers seep into his skull
he can only lay
city lights surround me
headlights flash
sports cars fly by
dogs whimper at their precense
a stoplight approaches
it waits for them
it flashes yellow
they do not stop
they dash towards the finishline
they’re in too deep
they know it’s too late
they can’t stop know, only speed faster
they rush past the red lights, quivering from shame
Bright Sun
My eyes feel a foreign warmth
The warmth carefully inches down my neck
My eyelids unhinge
Her fingers gently reach my chin
I smile at her presence
The sun has presented herself at my window yet again
I embrace her affection
I begin the day anew
