In this elective, students will learn basic photography tips and techniques, including features unique to digital cameras and basic photo editing. The class will include plenty of hands-on practice and small group collaboration on a variety of projects. Students will also develop and practice a variety of technology skills, using digital photography tools (Pixlr and Pages, for example) and the internet. The class will also focus on the design and revision process - planning, drafting, copy-editing, and, finally, publishing.

Lastly, this class is a prerequisite for students who want to be involved in the 2019-20 ATA Yearbook. Yearbook elective will be offered in the third trimester this year and performance in photography may be a deciding factor for admittance into yearbook elective.
