Ephemerality
Ephemerality
Slowly the sunrise
Spreads across the horizon
Gold and glorious
Blinding those who dare to glance
But vanishing just as swift
Baby bird, baby bird!
Have you heard the good word?
Your future burns bright
You’ll make it through the night.
When the wind cuts you down,
You lay soft on the ground.
The trees loom so tall,
Will anyone else fall?
And as you stand alone,
The wish I have sown
Will carry you high
On the wind with a sigh.
Mirror and reflection; stand in front
See yourself from two sides
Is it any different?
Is it recognizable, your smile;
Does it fit right on your face?
Does it feel as fake?
Reconcile art and artist;
Find the disconnect--
Have you ever thought you’re just
A painting
In a mirror frame?
