Misconstrued

Misconstrued

Envy begins to overtake her mind,

Clouding her sight

From her own success and assets.

Confined to her own track

Of the same deteriorating conduct,

She misconstrues her own worth,

Comparing herself to her peers

Who are smarter than her,

Prettier than her,

Funnier than her,

Richer than her.

Drunk off a concoction of hatred and misery,

She feels envy begin to overtake her mind,

Dragging her further from her happiness.
