"Buckeye"
Tines and prongs like thorns
Imperfect head of antlers
Crowns and carnations

"Where the Foxes Sing"
The foxes dance and sing
In the middle of nowhere
Jump and pounce and spring
Upon the rabbit, ensnared
Chilling scream, throat caught in string

"Below Water"
A boat drifted slowly, having lost its oars
Pebbles and reeds lined the shore
The waves gurgled softly, whispering songs
A collection of shells and the feathers of swans
Gray geese, ducks, and the common swallow
The dinghy was empty, vacant and hollow
Its resident had sunk to the watery depths
A struggle for the surface, a final breath
Life escaped but they did not
Their memory would fade and soon be forgot

"Song Birds"
The canary called from a barren tree
My mind was numb, my body ached
My heart was slow, my breath faded
The black bird sang it’s sorrow song
Blue hands on silver sheets
A pine wood coffin laid at my feet
The wren’s words were short and sweet
My hollow eyes, my missing soul
Who do you sing for?
How long was I gone?

"Waiting and Watching"
Walking down the road
Streetlights flicker and buzz
A car goes past, a gust of wind
Three steps and then he stops
A black dog stands, waiting
Cold gray eyes meet piercing gold
Cold gray concrete beneath his feet
A girl in a yellow summer dress sat beside the beast
They’d both had their fill
