Summary

The Great Gatsby is a book set in the early 1900s about a young man that recently moved to New York. Nick Caraway moves into a house in Long Island in the West Egg district. He meets a fine fellow by the name of Jay Gatsby. Gatsby lives next door to Nick in a very large mansion. He has Parties all the time and has a very lively home.

Gatsby and Nick become better friends over time. Gatsby soon learns Nick is cousins with Daisy Buchanan. Daisy is the love of his life, and he soon finds out that while Jay was gone during the war, she married a rich chap by the name of Tom Buchanan. Gatsby instantly becomes infatuated with Daisy and decides to meet with her. Daisy falls in love with Gatsby and creates a conflict between Gatsby and her husband Tom.
