Library Lab: 3D Design with Tinkercad
Think It, Tinker It!
Our 5th graders designed custom plant pots using Tinkercad! In a creative collaboration between Mrs. Howland and Ms. Mullany, the art teacher, students also sculpted clay flowers to bring their 3D-printed pots to life.
Take a look at the amazing final creations for the Art Show—you're going to love what the students made!
Our creative 4th graders are making personalized name tags with the magic of Tinkercad!

Zoom into Robotics
In our kindergarten class, we brought the classic tale of "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" to life in a whole new way! This well-loved fable uses animal characters to teach important lessons about courage, perseverance, and standing up to bullies — but we didn’t just read the story… we retold it with robots!
Using our Bee-Bots, students programmed their bots to move around a story map, traveling to the beginning, middle, and end of the tale. As their Bee-Bots buzzed across the board, students narrated key parts of the story, guiding the goats past the mean troll and safely across the bridge. It was a fun and interactive way to explore storytelling, sequencing, and problem-solving — all while learning how to outsmart a bully like the clever billy goats!
Our first graders had a blast bringing the fable "The Three Little Pigs" to life — with the help of their buzzing buddies, the Bee-Bots! 🐷🐷🐷
This classic tale teaches important lessons about hard work, smart planning, and what can happen when you take shortcuts. But instead of just reading the story, our students retold it by programming their Bee-Bots to zoom across a story map, stopping at the beginning, middle, and end of the adventure.
As the Bee-Bots traveled from the straw house to the stick house and finally to the sturdy brick house, students sequenced the story and acted out each part. With plenty of giggles and learning along the way, they discovered that even fables can be full of fun and tech-powered twists!
Our second-grade students dove into the magical world of fairy tales by exploring their key elements. One of their favorites, Jack and the Beanstalk, served as the perfect adventure to retell! To bring the story to life, students used Bee-Bots to sequence the tale’s major events—guiding their robots through Jack’s daring climb, the giant’s booming footsteps, and the thrilling escape down the beanstalk. It was a hands-on way to blend storytelling with early coding skills!
Our kindergarten students took center stage in the library this week as they acted out the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood! With big imaginations and even bigger enthusiasm, they stepped into the roles of Little Red, the Wolf, Grandma, and the Woodcutter — bringing the story to life through movement, expression, and lots of laughter.
It was a magical mix of storytelling and drama that helped build comprehension, confidence, and creativity — and reminded us all how much fun reading can be!

Voting
Our future voters will engage in a mock election to gain a deeper understanding of the voting process and the significance of civic participation. Primary students will cast their votes to choose a new library mascot, with the candidates introduced below. Meanwhile, intermediate students will explore the process of electing a president, including an introduction to the electoral college system.
