ACADEMIC INTERESTS
CREATIVE WRITING
The focus of this class is learning and incorporating various writing skills to improve written expression. Imagination and creativity are encouraged as students create their own book of stories to take home! Students will be exposed to various authors and their different styles of writing. They will be encouraged to look further into their characters and delve deeper into their development with their ideas, word choice, and various literary devices, enabling the reader to transport themselves into the story!

DISCOVERY (STEM)
Join us as we explore the multiple facets of the STEM fields via hands-on teamwork activities. We will explore engineering principles in bridge building challenges, learn about the geology of volcanoes with simulated eruptions and real volcanic rocks! Science, technology and engineering will be investigated with many more exciting challenges, experiments and activities! Materials fee: $10 (Due first day of class. EXPLORE OUR OCEANS AND ANIMALS
Students will dive deep as they learn about Long Island's waterways including the Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. They will explore and discover animals that live in each of these environments. We will also learn how to promote safe practices for the environment and how pollution affects sea creatures and their habitats. Students will use math, science, and language skills to discuss how the habitats were created, how climate affects the habitat, and ways we can help protect the animals and water habitats.

LEGO STEM
In our STEM class, students will tackle a new challenge each week using LEGO bricks to create innovative models. They'll build solutions, reflect on their work, and present their designs to the class, explaining their creative process and problem-solving approach. This hands-on learning will encourage them to think outside the box, develop teamwork skills, and build confidence in their abilities. Students will explore, create, and grow through this engaging and interactive experience!

SCIENCE WIZARDS
Become a science wizard by understanding and manipulating states of matter with various thrilling, hands-on science activities! In this program, students will be making predictions, forming hypotheses, and observing the results to many experiments. Some of the scientific questions we will be answering are: which solvent will dissolve your favorite candy the fastest, will objects like Squishmallows, pasta, or coins sink or float, and why, what happens when gas needs more space when enclosed in a container, what makes butter so creamy and fluffy? (we will find out as we churn our own butter and enjoy a tasty treat!) There will be more fun and interesting facts to learn!

CREATION STATION
Would you like to learn how to make your own Lava Lamp, Silly Putty, and mason jar lanterns? This class is for creative minds that enjoy arts and crafts, STEAM, and other fun projects like rock/shell painting!

Students will explore a wide range of media including painting, drawing, sculpture and more! The projects are developed in order for students to express themselves through their work. We will use many ordinary items found around the house to make beautiful works of art!

FOOD FUN
LITTLE CHEFS ACADEMY
This is an interactive class where kids bring their favorite video games to life by cooking dishes inspired by iconic foods from those games! From pixelated treats to legendary power-up snacks, young chefs will explore cooking techniques while reimagining foods straight from the digital worlds they love. Perfect for grades 1-6, this class combines creativity, teamwork, and a love for both gaming and cooking, turning virtual meals into real-life tasty creations!

SWEET TOOTH
Have fun creating delicious sweets! Students will have an interactive experience making different types of snacks and desserts. Recipes will vary from simple marshmallow pops to multi-step elegant desserts. Students will also learn how to present their finished products.

SPECIAL INTEREST
BEGINNER GARDENERS (CLASS CANCELED)
If you love to garden but don’t quite know where to start, then this is the class for you! We will learn how to grow various vegetables from the actual vegetable, (lettuce, tomato, pepper, etc.). We will plant and monitor their growth. Students will receive information regarding good and bad insects for their plants and we will discuss how often to water the plants. Students will be able to bring their plants home to watch them grow, and we will make garden markers and garden stones!

CARD GAMES FOR KIDS
Learn to play various card games, while also learning and practicing good sportsmanship. Each student will be provided with a standard deck of cards that they can take home at the end of the program! We will also play some other card games such as UNO and Apples to Apples. Simple games will be taught along with more complex games that can be played with the standard deck of 52 cards as well as introduce students to other common card games for fun.

DRAWING FOR FUN
Learn how to draw people, animals, cartoon figures and objects using different methods of drawing techniques. We will be using markers, paint, and colored pencils to bring out the details in the drawings. Join this class and learn how to bring out the artist in you!

EAT A GOOD BOOK
Together, we will read a story, have or create a snack, and make a craft, (if time allows), to coincide with the story. Some of the books we will read are Snowmen at Night, Memoirs of a Goldfish, The Mysterious Valentine and Pass the Peas Please. Each student will receive a coloring book about the story.

GAMES AND GIGGLES
Have fun, meet new friends, and train your communication skills, strategic thinking, taking turns while playing some classic games like Candyland, Monopoly, as well as some new funny games like Pop the Pig, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and many more! Other games may include Skee-ball, table air hockey, Jenga, Twister, and Yeti in my Spaghetti.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE CYCLE
Through the world of literature, children will discover diverse characters, situations, and setting around the life cycle of both plants and animals. A few of the books we will use are Up in the Garden Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner, A Frog's Life Cycle: Explore Life Cycles by Mary Dunn, Life of a Turtle by Amelia Lockhart, and A Crocodile's Life Cycle by Barbara M. Linde. They will see how everything grows in unique ways, yet we are all still connected. Together, we will learn about each stage of life through interactive projects and creations.

SPORTS
SOCCER SHOTS
Soccer Shots coaches will work on individual soccer development, team-building, fun fitness activities and character development. All players can expect an age-appropriate curriculum, non-competitive attitude and skill building. Curriculum and themes change daily. Skills training vary by age group and are taught by trained and experienced coaches. No shin guards or equipment needed, just sneakers. This class is open to beginners as well as those with experience.
