ACADEMIC INTERESTS
CRAFTY READERS
Each week we will dive into a new book, exploring its theme, characters, and plot. We will read books such as If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and The Rainbow Fish. After each read aloud, students will have the opportunity to create a unique craft that complements the story. The crafts to follow may include their very own mouse puppet with its own cookie and a rainbow fish paper plate craft! Materials fee: $10

CREATIVE WRITING
This class is intended for those who enjoy writing. Imagination and creativity are encouraged as students create their own book of stories. Focus will be on character development as well as the use of different literary devices.

EXPLORE OUR OCEANS AND ANIMALS
Students will learn about Long Island’s waterways and the ocean. They will discover animals that live in each of these environments. The students will use math, science, and language skills to discuss how these habitats were created, how climate affects these habitats, and ways we can help protect the animals and water habitats.

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE CYCLE
Through the world of literature, children will discover diverse characters, situations, and settings around the life cycle of both plants and animals. They will see how everything grows in unique ways, yet we are all still connected. Together, we will learn about each stage of life through interactive projects and creations. Students will then work to create their own animal or plant and describe its own life cycle. Materials fee: $20

LEARNING WITH HEART AND MIND
Social Emotional Learning activities (SEL) are more critical now than ever. SEL helps children develop self-awareness and knowledge to express their emotions better. This learning method teaches students how to deal with different social situations and build a growth mindset. Students will engage in group activities as well as introduce mindful meditation, yoga, and coping strategies. Materials fee: $20

ARTS & CRAFTS
CARD MAKING-CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED
Students will learn how to make cards using basic paper crafting techniques and materials. Cards will be created for different card-giving occasions (i.e. birthday, holidays and thank you). Students will have fun creating their own handmade cards and enjoy giving them to family members or friends throughout the year! Materials fee: $10

CREATIVE CRAFTERS
Students will unleash their imagination and dive into the world of arts and crafts! In this hands-on class, students will explore a variety of materials such as paint, clay, and markers/crayons to create unique and personalized crafts. This course will include but is not limited to, winter-themed crafts such as watercolor snowflakes and cotton ball snowmen! Materials fee: $15

EXPLORING THE WORLD OF ORIGAMI-CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED
Students will enjoy creating origami garlands, gift boxes, and folded paper zines! In addition, students will learn how to make various shapes and creatures out of origami such as paper hearts, stars, cranes, frogs, dogs, fish and more! Materials fee: $5

FUN WITH SHRINKY DINKS-CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED
Learn how Shrinky Dinks work and the planning process of making one in this fun-filled class! Colored pencils, sharpies, and paint pens will be used on the shrink plastic sheets and see how the results vary. Students will be able to create a mobile project, earrings, necklaces, magnets, keychains and pins for backpacks, with their own Shrinky Dinks designs that they can take home and use or give to friends and family! Learn how to preserve memories by creating your own 12”x12” scrapbook! Students will learn how to display pictures in creative and meaningful ways using numerous techniques including journaling and using embellishments. Join us for a fun time! UTILITARIAN ART
Create art by using various materials to create things like origami gift boxes, handbound notebooks, reusable bags made out of second hand t-shirts, clay coasters, and much more. Being able to have students make art they can incorporate into their lives is a very rewarding process for them and they learn about how art is in every part of the world around us! FOOD FUN
FUN IN THE KITCHEN
Throughout the class, students will be actively involved in the cooking process including reading recipes, measuring ingredients, and preparing delicious snacks. We will focus on making snacks that can be enjoyed and shared during the many holidays taking place during the duration of the class. Parfaits, cookies, cupcakes, dips and snacks are just a few of the yummy treats the students will make! Materials fee: $20

SWEET TOOTH
Have fun creating delicious sweets! Each day, students will have the hands-on experience of creating their own recipes from start to finish. In addition, they will learn creative techniques to present their finished product. Recipes will vary from simple marshmallow pops to multi-step desserts. If you have a sweet tooth, this class is for you!

BEGINNER GARDENERS
If you love to garden but don’t quite know where to start, then this is the class for you! We will learn about when to plant, and the proper place to begin your vegetable and flower garden. Create some projects such as garden tags and stones. By the end of the Enrichment Program, you will bring home a plant that you grew! Materials fee: $20

SOCCER SHOTS
Soccer Shots coaches will work on individual soccer development, team-building, fun fitness activities and character development. All players can expect an age-appropriate curriculum, non-competitive attitude and skill building. Curriculum and themes change daily. Skills training vary by age group and are taught by trained and experienced coaches. No shin guards or equipment needed, just sneakers. This class is open to beginners as well as those with experience.
