Welcome to our collection of digital images!
“Lending a Hand” addresses some of the pressing issues impacting the residents of the Bayview Hunters Point in San Francisco. The focus of the project is on addressing the importance of free quality education, equality, the notable impact inflicted on the homeless due to the pandemic, the violence directed towards the API community and black solidarity, and overall helping the community.
Free Good Quality Education
Free quality education should be a mandatory right; no one should be denied this right as education is such a powerful tool especially in today’s society. The monetary means of a person should never dictate their level of education or opportunity to receive education. These images created by youth help highlight their thoughts on free quality education and why it is a necessity everyone needs to acknowledge.

Equality
“We the People”. Our right to stand as equals. These few lines are the core beliefs that Americans stand by. So why is there inequality in our society? In the Bay Area we live in a diverse community so it is our responsibility to respect and treat everyone equally. Our project is to send a reminder to everyone that we are equal and free. Although we may look different or think differently, we should treat each other with respect. Our images here are to help create a sense of community and equality.

Homelessness
Homelessness is is a prevalent issue all over the world, especially San Francisco. In San Francisco, many people are living on the streets because of expensive housing. We need to come together to improve the lives of all people. These art pieces will show the importance of caring for the homeless that are often forgotten or ignored. Hopefully our project will help shine a light on this issue.

Stop AAPI Hate and Black Solidarity
AAPI and Black Solidarity is a movement that advocates against actions done to devalue the Asian and Black community. We chose this topic because we want to stop racism and bring awareness to those attempting to further divide and strip us of our identity. Our hope is to send a message through a compilation of resistances that our fellow community members are doing right now.
