3DforKids was an experimental program by Bobby Roy, director of 3DTraining.com, to develop learning systems that leverages technology to help kids learn faster than traditional methods.
In 2013, the San Francisco Exploratorium commissioned 3DforKids to run a Pi digits recall contest as part of their Pi Day celebrations on March 14. Bobby developed a gamified learning system that enabled a group of 14 children (ages 7-18) from diverse backgrounds to memorize and recall up to 1,000 digits of Pi in just a few weeks!
Their impressive achievements were recognized by Channel 7 and Larry Shaw, physicist, SF Exploratorium curator, and the creator of Pi Day. See images and videos from the event below.
