All radiographs in the database were acquired from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. They were digitized by graduate students from North Carolina State University and have been used in several professional publications and presentations. The digitization process, research, and creation of this database was funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ 2010-DN-BX-K214).
Notes for using the database table (on page "Radiograph Database"):
- The column "Anatomy" refers to anatomical regions which are visible in at least one of the radiographs for that individual. The terms used include: cranial ap, cranial lateral, cranial pa, dental, feet, hands, long bones, mandible, neck, pectoral girdle, pelvis, and torso. (ap and pa refer to anterior-posterior and posterior-anterior views, respectively.) There are also two additional special terms: CT and infant.
- The links in the DICOM column will direct you to the Google Drive folder containing the radiographs for that specific individual. Unfortunately, Google Drive cannot show thumbnails of DICOM files, so they must be downloaded to view.
