Welcome to LCoP!

I am so excited to work with you this year! Please click on the overview video to the left to get a sense of some of the nuts and bolts for how LCoP will work this year! I am passionate about empowering educators to feel truly ready to facilitate Reading Apprenticeship learning experiences with campus colleagues as well as with students, so we strive to create a supportive, at times even immersive, community of practice to foster our shared efforts.

Throughout our intensive online "summer institute" launch and in the online course that follows, participants work through a comprehensive set of "training of trainer" materials to prepare for and deliver Reading Apprenticeship professional learning for campus faculty members. Teams set their own schedule between these sessions for planning and facilitating professional learning as appropriate in their context. In addition, participants have access to ongoing phone and online coaching and to collaboration with other LCoP members.

Your Textbook
A digital copy of Leading for Literacy: A Reading Apprenticeship Approach will be included in your Canvas course and will serve as our main textbook. If you are not a fan of digital reading, you can purchase a hard copy. (You might also want a copy of Reading for Understanding, 3rd edition--but that is up to you!)
All other texts, including articles, book chapters, web resources, and video footage, will also be provided in the Canvas Modules.
On July 3, 2023, you will receive an invitation to our course in the Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas. While logged on to Canvas, click Dashboard, and then enter this class.
Please log in and complete the Orientation module before our first Zoom session on July 10.
