Starting Sessions

Starting a Session

Your students can begin requesting to join your live session 15 minutes prior to class time so you'll want to be sure you arrive early to set up and admit them into class.

When a student clicks on your live session link, they'll enter the Waiting Room and will see the notification "Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon." While they wait, they will have the option to test their computer audio to ensure that everything is working smoothly.

Notifications

At the same time, a notification will appear for you as the host. If you do not have the Participants window open yet, the notification will appear as a pop-up at the bottom of your screen.

Admitting students in the room

If you already have the Participants window open, or if you click See waiting room, you will see the notification at the top of the list.

To allow the student into the room, click Admit on either notification.

The Admit button will allow everyone who is waiting to enter your live session classroom into the room. Each time a student or group of students requests to enter your live session classroom, you will need to admit them.

We encourage you to have a pre-class activity prepared for your students to get them discussing and connecting even before class officially begins.
