My Idea
A company that provides a service to farmers and companies to ensure their customer satsifaction and quality are high. The company does this by using color-coded fruits and vegetables. Each plant and its produce are tagged with a unique code. If a customer finds an issue with the product, they can report it using the code. The company then inspects the corresponding plant, using an AI device to diagnose any malnutrition and suggest solutions. This system allows the company to improve crop quality, benefiting both customers and farmers. As for our revenue, the farmer or agri business can buy our subscription for a fixed amount and sign a contract with us.
My Presentation
My Argument
Celebrities promote dedication to hard work and model how to positively handle situations when they make mistakes. However, in most cases, the drawbacks of the celebrity industry outweigh its advantages. Reality television proves to be a factor that contributes to how teenagers think they should behave. “According to a study conducted by Huston and Wright at the University of Kansas, the only thing that kids spend more time doing than sleeping is watching TV shows” (Teens and Celebrities). But every time you turn on the TV, it’s hard to find a television show that isn’t about celebrities. Data from the Pew Research Center in 2019 indicates that 64% of teenagers believe that celebrities have a significant impact on societal opinions. Other than that, In reality television shows, celebrities are displayed in a negative manner, often shown doing drugs, partying, fighting, and engaging in sexual activities, impacting the way teenagers think and behave. When stars post images of themselves drinking or smoking on social media, they normalize substance use. Furthermore, they make it appear attractive and cool. Moreover, teens often idolize celebrities and want to be like them. Therefore, if they see images on Instagram of a favorite singer or actor using drugs or drinking, they might be tempted to do so as well. University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine study looked at teenagers who frequently listen to music that contains references to marijuana, a drug. Subsequently, they found that these teens are more likely to use the drug than teens with less exposure to such lyrics. In addition, for every hour that American teens listen to music, they hear more than three references to different brand names of alcohol. Moreover, Airbrushed photographs of celebrities with perfect bodies staged in exotic locations are all over social media, but such flawless images have been described as damaging, for the way they pressurize young people to meet unobtainable body-image standards. The youth charity YMCA spoke to more than 1,000 young people aged between 11 and 16. They found that 62% of 15 to 16-year-olds felt that social media had ramped up expectations over their personal appearance. Another survey found that 80 percent of teen girls compare themselves to images they see of celebrities. Teenagers are chasing a form of “beauty” that doesn’t even exist. In conclusion, I strongly feel celebrities have a negative influence mostly in today’s era. Thankyou.

Opening Statement
Honorable Chair and esteemed delegates.
The delegate of Canada addresses the pressing matter of excessive biotechnological utilization, a pinnacle of contemporary science. Biotechnology offers many benefits. It lets scientists discover new species and adapt organisms to different conditions. Our ecological fabric is being disrupted as a result of the amalgamation of genes and organisms, which disrupts our ecosystem. Biotechnology improved rice net availability per capita from 58.0 kg/year in 1951 to 69.3 kg/year in 2017. Over time, new species lowered millets and pulses' per capita net availability. This technology was once a solution but has now become a problem. May 2003 saw the Canadian government create the External Advisory Committee on Smart Regulation. Smart Regulation innovates by identifying better ways to protect Canadians and the environment. Another solution can be adopting a government-wide biotechnology regulatory regime. In our pursuit of an ecologically harmonious ecosystem, we implore our global compatriots to take similar actions. A symphony of collective action is imperative. With caution, this powerful force can weave a green tapestry of sustainable harmony. Thank you for listening.
Debating on Motions
Motion: "Honorable Chair, The delegate of South Africa would like to propose the motion of transparency in labelling of genetically modified products, with a total time limit of 20 minutes and 1 minute per speaker. "
My Argument: Labelling all food, including GMOs, is crucial. Labelling should contain allergen potential, food composition changes, and nutritional quality changes. Organic and non-organic food products must follow labelling regulations outlined in the Food and Drugs Act and Safe Food for Canadians Act. However, There are no specific laws in Canada about labelling GM foods differently. They are labelled like any other food because our safety assessments have found them to be as safe and nutritious as non-GM foods. We do not allow the sale of genetically modified (GM) foods in Canada unless Health Canada's scientists are satisfied that they are safe and nutritious. Thank you!
If anyone raised a complaint against Canada: Canada does not have regulatory requirements to label GMO ingredients, but consultations since 1993 have led to the development of guidelines for voluntary labelling of genetic engineering products. The Canadian government supported the creation of a national standard in 2004 to guide voluntary labeling and advertising of genetic engineering products.
Challenging a Delegate
Proposing the motion: The Delegate of Canada would like to propose a challenge Austria on the the topic of “Why Austria doesn’t adopt GMOs and use it to solve their problem of Climate change”
A Glimpse of my Claims: Climate change is causing Austria significant economic and environmental impacts, with the country potentially facing up to 5.2 million Euros per year in costs by 2050. Biotechnology can help reduce climate change by developing biotech crops, sequestering carbon in soil, producing biofuels, bioplastics, biochemicals, enhancing crop resilience, and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity. The delegate of Canada believes biotechnology can benefit Austria.
