ABOUT US
1st Caithness 1st Wick Scout Group has been part of the Wick Community for over 100 years. As the first Scout group formed in Caithness, we're proud to carry the title of 1st Caithness as part of our identify. Generations of local families have passed through our doors, and while Scouting has evolved over the years, our purpose remains the same: helping young people grow in confidence, resilience and independence.
Today, we welcome Boys and Girls aged 6 to 14 years old through our Beaver, Cub and Scouts Sections. Our programme is shaped around adventure, teamwork, practical skills and community involvement- from outdoor activities and camps to badge work, games and local projects. Everything we do is led by trained volunteers and supported by families who believe in giving young people the chance to try new things, make friends and build life skills.
We're part of The Scout Association, a national chartiy and member of a worldwide Scouting movement that supports millions of young people. Being part of that wider network gives us structure, training and shared values- while still keeping our focus on the young people and families here in Caithness.
You'll find us at Kirk Hall, right in the centre of Wick, Caithness (KW1 4DD), making us easy to reach for families across the town and surrounding areas.
Our building includes two main hall spaces, a kitchen and toilet facilities, along with outdoor space to the rear. It's a practical, flexible venue that we use each week for meetings, activities and events.
Our hall is also available for hire for community groups, parties and local events. With its central location and adaptable layout, its a convenient and affordable option for a wide range of uses. Please note that the building does not currently have Wi-Fi access.
