Community Outreach Volunteer
What if I can't make it to an in-person event?
If you had made prior commitments on attending an event but then find yourself unable to attend for whatever reason, let us know on Slack that you can't attend as soon as possible.
2. What is expected of me to do at an in-person event?
The main goal of having you there is to speak to the community members about One Degree. We expect you to speak to them about our resources, showing them how to navigate the One Degree platform, and encourage them to fill out surveys.
The other goal of having you there is to network with other organizations and collect business cards so we can hopefully collaborate with them at a later date.
We don't expect you to know everything right off the bat. We will show you what to expect when the time comes.
3. Can I leave an event early?
We expect to have shifts so you can always sign up for a shift that works for you.
4. I am confused on what I am suppose to do.
No worries. You can always reach out to us on Slack directly or using #losangeles_volunteers and ask questions.
5. Do I have to keep a consistent schedule when volunteering online?
No. You are free to volunteer anytime between 7am-7pm PST Monday - Friday (Weekends are normally reserved for community events)
