One of our amazing kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Frey, was kind enough to introduce the Blankets of Hope organization to our school community. Blankets of Hope is an organization started by two brothers to inspire a global movement of kindness, one blanket at a time. Students were able to watch informational videos about the homelessness crisis in NYC and across the country. They wrote inspirational letters and attached those letters to blankets provided by Blankets of Hope. Mrs. Frey and Mr. Kronenberger assisted with delivering these blankets to local homeless shelters. Thank you so much, Mrs. Frey! This was a heartwarming and amazing experience for all students and staff involved.
Students in Ms. Braskett and Ms. Lopez's kindergarten classes learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. Ms. Lopez explains, "Our Kindergarten class grew butterflies from caterpillars in the class. [They] learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. They took journal notes and then we released the butterflies in the back of the main building." Take a look at the adorable photos below!
