Kansas City MO Laser treatment

Nikky
Co-Owner / Aesthetician

I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

Sean

Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector
I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing!

It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

What are HA Fillers exactly?

Juvederm and Restylane, hyaluronic Acid fillers, are suspended within a gel carrier. This gel helps the injection of hyaluronic Acid stay in its place. The hyaluronic acid works immediately by pulling in water, therefore, increasing the volume where injected. This is great for deep wrinkles and folds on the face, as well as areas that require more volume like the cheeks or lips. These fillers dissolve easily and last for up to a year.

There are many HA Fillers available. To deliver dramatic enhancements, we use Restylane as well as Juvederm. More options. Customized results.

What are Neurotoxins exactly?

Botox and Dysport are injectable neurotoxins that can temporarily help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive muscle contractions can lead to facial lines and wrinkles that get deeper and deeper over time. Botox and Dysport will weaken these muscle contractions temporarily leaving the skin visibly smoother.

Common areas to treat include the forehead and frown lines. You can see results in as little as two days. However, they will gradually improve over two weeks. If the dose is correct, results can last up to four weeks.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a bio stimulatory injectable comprised of poly-L-lactic acid that helps to restore facial volume gradually. When injected, it stimulates your skin's natural ability gradually to make collagen. The poly-L-lactic acids is gradually biodegraded over several months and replaced by a network of new collagen. Treatment areas could include the cheeks, jawline, nasolabialfolds, temples and cheeks. Most people will need three treatments within a few months. After that, they only need one treatment each year. The results can last up to two years.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an approved injectable treatment that permanently eliminates fat cells. One to five Kybella vials may be required depending on the amount of fat. Multiple sessions may be required. The submental fat is the most commonly treated area. Also known as a "double chin", it is also known as the submental fat. Once a desired aesthetic goal is achieved, treatments can be stopped.

What is a Vitamin B-12 shot?

Vitamin B-12 can be considered an essential vitamin. This injection may help with increasing energy levels, improving fatigue, speeding up metabolism, improving sleep patterns, increasing concentration, improving mood, and boosting the immune system to name a few.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial addresses all skin care needs with patented technology that cleans, extracts, and hydrates the skin.

HydraFacial Super Serums are made with nourishing substances that provide instant glow.

The first step cleanses and peels the skin to uncover a new layer of skin using gentle exfoliation. Next, a light chemical peel will be applied to smoothen the skin and prepare it in order for painless extractions. The skin is then cleaned using painless suction. Last, antioxidants and peptides are infused into the skin to maximize the skin's glow. It is quick and easy!

What is Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning uses a medical-grade surgical blade to remove the surface layer of dead skin, debris, and hair. One session of dermaplaning can remove approximately 2-3 weeks worth of dead skin cells and other debris. Dermplane does not require any pain and is non-invasive. Although it may look like shaving, dermplane is more efficient because the blade can reach the top layer of the skin. The hair will not grow back darker - dermaplaning targets vellus hairs (peach fuzz), which are the same size as the original. A surgical blade does not give the illusion of thicker hair. This treatment is quick and painless.

What is Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin to remove the upper layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can help improve the skin's texture as well as radiance. Chemical peels can be performed in three strengths: deep, medium, or superficial. The results of a chemical peel will vary depending on the concerns you have and what type of treatment you choose. For most, multiple treatments are recommended to achieve the best results.

What is Clear + Brilliant Laser?

Clear + Brilliant Laser uses advanced technology. However, Clear + Brilliant treatments are easy to obtain. Clear + Brilliant starts with a consultation. This allows you to discuss your concerns and determine whether Clear + Brilliant is right to treat them. Your practitioner can then recommend a Clear+Bright Laser treatment program. You have two options to choose from to address skin texture issues, such as fine lines/wrinkles or poor size or brown spot.

What is an Insta-Glo Facial?

Our signature Insta-Glo Facial will leave you glowing for days! This combination of a HydroJelly masque and an ampoule is designed to meet your specific skin needs.

First, cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Next, the ampoule will be applied to the skin and infused with our Nano Infusion Pen. After, the customized HydroJelly masque is applied. The HydroJelly mask is then applied to your face. The downtime is minimal.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling causes microscopic skin injuries and stimulates the body’s natural wound healing process. It also minimizes cellular damage.

It may be possible to recommend a series up to six treatments depending on the results. There is minimal downtime with this procedure.

Lashes & Brows

Let's not forget about our lashes and brows! As we all know, lashes and eyebrows are a major part of our overall aesthetic. The hair on our heads is colored so why not the brows and eyelashes? By coloring the hair from the base to the tip, a lash tint or brow tint can give the illusion that they are fuller and more long.

You can make it even more dramatic with a lashlift. Semi-permanent curls can be added to your lashes for up to six weeks. Don't use mascara or curler on your lashes. Instead, save your time by using a lash/brow pigment and/or lash lifting.

Have a tight schedule? Latisse? You can get your lashes darker and thicker in as little 8 weeks with this at-home treatment.

What is Medical Grade Skincare?

You may be asking what medical grade skincare is. You might be wondering what medical grade skincare is. These products typically have higher active ingredient concentrations that anything you can buy over-the-counter. That means quicker results in less time. Medical-grade skincare products can penetrate the skin deeper than other products, which is a big advantage over cheaper, more superficial products. Even though some products are more expensive than the ones you might find at the store, you still know that you are purchasing high-quality products that have been clinically evaluated to produce optimal results.

Sounds great, right? We think so too. This is why we carry three top-rated medical-grade brands of skincare: SkinCeuticals, Alastin, and SkinMedica.
