Facial treatments Kansas City MO

Nikky
Co-Owner / Aesthetician

I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

Sean

Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector
I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing!

It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

What are HA Fillers?

Juvederm or Restylane are hyaluronic fillers that are suspended in gel carriers. This gel helps the injectable hyaluronic to remain in place. The hyaluronic Acid immediately draws in water to increase the volume of the area where it is injected. This is great for moderate to deeper wrinkles and folds of the face or areas where more volume is desired like cheeks or lips. These fillers can be dissolved naturally, with most lasting for at least one year. Some may last even longer.

There are many HA-fillers on offer. For subtle to dramatic enhancements, we've used both Restylane HA Fillers and Juvederm. You have more options and can get customized results.

What are Neurotoxins exactly?

Botox and Dysport, injectable neurotoxins, can temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Repetitive muscle contractions can cause facial lines and wrinkles to form and get deeper over time. Botox or Dysport temporarily weakens these muscle contractions, making the skin appear smoother.

Common treatment areas are the forehead, frown lines and Crows feet. Results can be seen starting in just a couple of days after treatment but will continue to work gradually over two weeks. Results can last up four months if taken as directed.

What is sculpture?

Sculptra uses poly-L lactic acids to slowly restore facial volume. When injected, it stimulates your skin's natural ability gradually to make collagen. The polylactic acid will be biodegraded, and replaced with a network of new collagen after several months. The areas that may be treated include the temples, cheeks or nasolabialfolds as well as the jawline. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. The results can last up to two years.

What is Kybella anyway?

Kybella can be used to permanently remove fat cells. Depending upon the amount of fat present, up to five vials (or more) of Kybella might be required during one treatment session. Sometimes multiple sessions are necessary. The submental fat, otherwise known as a double chin, is the most common area that requires treatment. Treatments can stop once a desired aesthetic goal has been reached.

What is a Vitamin B-12 Shot and how do you use it?

Vitamin B-12

is an essential vitamin your body needs in order to function properly. This injection may help with increasing energy levels, improving fatigue, speeding up metabolism, improving sleep patterns, increasing concentration, improving mood, and boosting the immune system to name a few.

What is HydraFacial and how does it work?

The HydraFacial treatment addresses all skincare needs using patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate the skin.

HydraFacial serums are made from nourishing ingredients to give you an instant glow.

First, clean and peel the skin to reveal a new layer. This is done by gentle exfoliation. Next, a light chemical peel will be applied to smoothen the skin and prepare it in order for painless extractions. Next, the pores are cleaned out using painless suction and the skin is nourished. To enhance the skin's glow, antioxidants as well as peptides are instilled. It is quick and easy!

What is Dermaplane, exactly?

Dermaplaning is a surgical procedure that uses a medical-grade blade to remove dead skin and other debris. A single session can remove about 2-3 weeks worth of built up dead skin cells or debris. Dermplane is painless and non-invasive. While the technique looks like shaving, it's much more effective than that because the blade used is able reach right up against the skin's top layer. You don't have to worry about your hair getting darker. Dermaplaning targets the peach fuzz (vellus hair) which grows back in the same size and color. In addition, the way the surgical blade cuts the hair does not create the illusion of thicker hair. This treatment is quick and painless.

What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can improve skin texture and radiance as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also help decongest and treat acne-prone skin. Chemical peels come with a variety of strengths, including deep, medium, and superficial. You can see a difference in your skin depending on your concerns, and which peel you choose to address them. Multi-treatments are best for the best results.

What is Clear + Brilliant Laser and how do you define it?

Clear + Brilliant Laser's advanced technology is used to provide Clear + Brilliant treatments. Clear + Brilliant treatments begin with a consultation. This is where your practitioner will determine if Clear + Brilliant treatment is right for you. From there, your practitioner can recommend a Clear + Brilliant Laser treatment regimen. There are two handpieces you can choose from, one to address issues with skin texture like fine lines/wrinkles as well as poor size and brown spots.

What is an Insta-Glo Facial?

You will be glowing for days with our signature Insta-Glo Facial! This facial combines a HydroJelly masque along with a customized ampoule that is tailored to your skin.

First, clean and exfoliate your skin. Next, the ampoule will be applied to the skin and infused with our Nano Infusion Pen. The HydroJelly mask is then applied. The HydroJelly mask is then applied to your face. This treatment has little to no downtime.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling inflicts tiny injuries on the skin. This stimulates the body's natural healing process and minimizes cellular damages.

Depending on your results a series of 3 to 6 treatments may be recommended. This procedure has minimal downtime.

Lashes & Brows

Don't forget your brows, lashes, and brows. We all know by now that lashes and brows play a significant role in our overall aesthetics. You color your hair on your head, so why not your lashes and eyebrows? The illusion of a fuller brow or lash tint can make them appear longer and fuller by coloring the hair follicles, from tip to base.

The lash lift will take your lashes to the next level. You can get a semi-permanent curl to your eyelashes that will last for as long as 6 weeks. You can save time and avoid using mascara and lash curlers by doing a lash/brow tint or a lash lift instead.

Do you have a busy schedule and don't want to spend time on lash tints or extensions? Latisse? In as little as eight weeks, this at-home treatment can lengthen your lashes and make them thicker and darker.

What is Medical-Grade skincare?

What is medical grade skincare you might ask? These skincare products have higher active ingredients than what you would find in the store. That means quicker results in less time. Additionally, medical-grade skincare products can penetrate your skin at a deeper layer than those that are less effective. Although some products might be more expensive than those you can buy over-the-counter, you will know that you are getting top-quality products with clinically proven results.

You think that sounds wonderful? We believe so. That's why you'll find we offer our favorite products from three different medical-grade skincare brands: Alastin, SkinCeuticals, and SkinMedica.
