Group Support
In my small business, Sterling Services, I offer a variety of support groups for women. With interest around particular topics, I build a list of 6-8 women and then begin to facilitate an 8-12 week support group experience.
Support groups help people by:
introducing them to others who have had similar experiences
countering the sense of isolation
providing emotional, physical and spiritual support in a safe, non-judgmental way
allowing them to explore their many thoughts and feelings
encouraging members to not only receive support, but be able to provide the same
offering new ways of approaching problems
showing them that they can trust and bond in what feels like an uncaring world
giving them a forum to search for meaning
reawakening their zest for life and giving them hope for healing
