I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.</p>
<p>I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing!

What are HA Fillers?

Juvederm, Restylane and other hyaluronic acids fillers are suspended in a gel carrier. This gel helps the injectable hyaluronic to remain in place. The hyaluronic acid works immediately by pulling in water, therefore, increasing the volume where injected. This is great for moderate to deeper wrinkles and folds of the face or areas where more volume is desired like cheeks or lips. These fillers dissolve naturally and can last up to one year, with some lasting even longer.

There are many HA-fillers on offer. To deliver dramatic enhancements, we use Restylane as well as Juvederm. You can have customized results.

What are Neurotoxins, exactly?

Botox, Dysport and Dysport injectable neurotoxins can temporarily improve the appearance fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive muscle contractions can cause wrinkles and facial lines to develop and become deeper over time. Botox, Dysport and Dysport temporarily relax these muscle contractions. The skin will appear smoother.

The forehead, frown lines and crows feet are all common areas for treatment. You can see results in as little as two days. However, they will gradually improve over two weeks. The effects of the treatment can last for up to four months if administered correctly.

What is Sculptra, exactly?

Sculptra is a bio stimulatory injectable comprised of poly-L-lactic acid that helps to restore facial volume gradually. When injected it stimulates your own skin's natural ability to produce collagen slowly over time. The poly-L-lactic acids is gradually biodegraded over several months and replaced by a network of new collagen. The treatment areas include the jawline, cheeks and nasolabial folds. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. The results can last up to two years.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an approved injectable treatment that permanently eliminates fat cells. Depending upon the amount of fat present, up to five vials (or more) of Kybella might be required during one treatment session. Sometimes multiple sessions are necessary. The most common area of treatment is the submental fat otherwise known as a 'double chin'. Treatments can be stopped once the desired aesthetic goal was achieved.

What is a Vitamin B-12 Shot and how do you use it?

Vitamin B-12, an essential vitamin, is what our body needs to function well. This injection could help improve energy, decrease fatigue, speed metabolism, improve sleep patterns and increase concentration. It may also boost immunity.

What is Dermaplane and how does it work?

Dermaplaning is a surgical procedure that uses a medical-grade blade to remove dead skin and other debris. A single session of dermaplaning is capable of removing approximately 2-3 weeks' worth of skin cells and debris. Dermplane is completely pain-free and non-invasive. The technique may look similar to shaving, but it is much more effective because the blade being used is able to get right against the top layer of skin. There's no reason to be concerned about your hair becoming darker. Dermaplaning works on the vellus (peach fuzz), and the hair grows back exactly the same size. It doesn't give the illusion that the hair is thicker because of the way it is cut. There is no downtime with this treatment.

What is Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are treatments that use a chemical solution to treat the skin's top layers. Chemical peels can improve skin texture and radiance as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also help decongest and treat acne-prone skin. Chemical peels are available with different strengths. Improvement in the skin varies depending on your concerns and which peel is selected to address your needs. Multiple treatments are recommended for best results.

What is Clear + Brilliant Laser?

Clear + Brilliant Laser is based in advanced technology. Clear + Brilliant is simple to use. Clear + Brilliant treatments begin with a consultation. This is where your practitioner will determine if Clear + Brilliant treatment is right for you. From there, your practitioner can recommend a Clear + Brilliant Laser treatment regimen. You have two options to choose from to address skin texture issues, such as fine lines/wrinkles or poor size or brown spot.

What is an Insta-Glo Facial?

You will be glowing for days with our signature Insta-Glo Facial! This combination of a HydroJelly masque and an ampoule is designed to meet your specific skin needs.

First, cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Then the ampoule is applied and is infused into the skin using our Nano Infusion Pen. After the ampoule is applied, HydroJelly masque will be applied. Finally, the appropriate products are applied then applied to your skin and you are ready to own the day! This treatment has little to no downtime.

What is Microneedling and how can it help you?

Microneedling creates microscopic injuries to the skin and stimulates the body's natural wound healing process while minimizing cellular damage.

Based on your results, a series of 3-6 treatments may be recommended. This procedure requires minimal downtime.

We can't forget our brows and lashes! As we all know, lashes and eyebrows are a major part of our overall aesthetic. You color your hair on your head, so why not your lashes and eyebrows? A lash tint and brow tint can cause the illusion of them being fuller and longer by coloring the hair follicles from base to tip.

The lash lift will take your lashes to the next level. You can get a semi-permanent curl to your eyelashes that will last for as long as 6 weeks. You can save time and avoid using mascara and lash curlers by doing a lash/brow tint or a lash lift instead.
