I'm a West Lyon High School graduate. I attended South Dakota State University and received a BS with majors in secondary education and geography. After teaching sixth grade in Brookings for a year, I decided to get my elementary degree at Dakota State College. After receiving my elementary degree, I taught 1 1/2 years in Brookings in a self contained Special Ed room. After moving back to Larchwood, I substitute taught and tutored in West Lyon, Canton, and Rock Rapids for 5 years before accepting a position at Hills-Beaver Creek, where I taught 5th and 6th grade. I taught in Beaver Creek for 1/2 a year, before taking a 2nd grade position at West Lyon. I've been teaching 20 years at West Lyon, 15 years in first grade, and a year in 2nd grade and 6 years in 3rd grade. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Morningside College. I received a quality education from West Lyon and am excited to be part of the staff in such a supportive school district. I enjoy antiquing, camping, boating and spending time with my 9 grandchildren.
