Evaluating your Research Training Course or Program

This is a full day ineractive workshop from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm in person at UW Madison. Participants in the Entering Research Facilitator Training and Curriculum Development institute are invited to attend an additional workshop focused on research training course/program evaluation. In this interactive workshop, participants may revise an existing evaluation plan, or draft a new plan. A planning guide will be used to:
Become familiar with the different types of evaluation, evaluation plans and frameworks
Identify, articulate, and prioritize their evaluation goals
Identify reporting needs
Develop evaluation questions
Align data sources with evaluation questions
Consider analysis and reporting options
Learn about potential evaluation challenges and articulate strategies to mitigate those challenges
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will leave with a revised evaluation plan or a draft of a new evaluation plan. This workshop is opened to trained facilitators of Entering Research and Entering Mentoring.
