Principal Investigator

The principal investigator Yue Wu obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at Harvard University (07/2001-06/2006). Then, he received a Miller Fellowship for postdoctoral work in Chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley (08/2006-07/2009). Wu joined Purdue University as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering in August 2009 and received an early promotion to tenured associate professor in April 2014. He moved to Iowa State University and Department of Energy Ames National Laboratory in June 2014 as Herbert L. Stiles Associate Professor and was promoted to Herbert L. Stiles Professor (full professor) in 2020. His research has been highlighted by National Public Radio (NPR) News, Department of Energy, American Chemical Society’s Chemical and Engineering News, National Science Foundation, etc. Prof. Wu has also received numerous recognitions, including DuPont Young Professor Award in 2010, Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship in 2010, 2011, and 2012, “2014 Emerging Investigators” by Royal Society of Chemistry’s Journal of Materials Chemistry A, "Rising Star" named by U.S. Council of Chemical Research in 2015, Nanoscale Science and Engineering Young Investigator Award from American Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2016, and 2017 Midwest Energy News "40 Under 40" Award, Mid Career Research Achievement Award of Iowa State University.
