Current Research Interests

Natural products are privileged compounds in the discovery of functional molecules. While synthesizing natural products and their functional derivatives, we frequently encounter difficulties to construct specific substructures and/or set up stereogenic centers. In our program, we are investigating the new catalytic synthetic method to provide more efficient and selective route for functional molecules. The key of our research is to reveal interactions between substrate molecules and catalysts, which further enables the approaches to novel types of catalysts. In addition, a variety of efficient modifications on functional molecules are possible. We are also interested in synthesizing biologically relevant compounds which are further evaluated in the collaborations with related researchers.
