Western North Carolina Fall Prevention Coalition(WNCFPC) strives to provide communities with descriptions of collaborative resources, including meetings, events, and resource list of local providers with the common goal of decreasing fall related injuries in WNC. The coalition also aims to grow our fall prevention impact by further encouraging neighboring communities to organize regional resources with the guidance of our WNCFPC.

MCDOWELL COUNTY: Community Health And Mobility Partners (CHAMP), a Falls Prevention Assessment and Intervention Program, is held at the McDowell Senior Center every second Friday March through November Contact: Weyland Prebor for an appointment at 828-659-0823. Other falls prevention programs offered at the McDowell Senior Center are A Matter of Balance Program, and Enhanced Fitness class. Please call the Senior Center for details. If you are interested in volunteering to learn more about the CDC's STEADI Falls Risk Program, contact Martha Zimmerman, PT, MA ED at mzimmerman0988@gmail.com.
