About Me
Welcome to Visual Arts at Wydown Middle School!
My name is Mrs. Lawless and I have been teaching art at the middle school level for 9 years now and love everything about it. I believe the arts is an essential part to a students growth and in visual arts classes, students will be practicing critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity, which are the skills needed in 21st century learning.
As far as my journey to teaching art, it started when I was in middle school and noticed that not only was I being recognized for my artistic skills, but it was an expressive outlet for me, which brought be so much happiness every day. I was constantly being challenged to do things in art class, I wasn't sure I could do, but feeling the fear and doing it anyway, helped me grow as an individual and become a confident, fearless and creative risk taker.
