12/27/22: Marilyn Fabits' son, Steve, is in the hospital and having to undergo dialysis. She asked that we keep her and Steve in our prayers. Cards and prayers would be helpful.

11/19/22: Jan Burkybile, who was a long time member of the WGC, discovered she had tongue cancer and had surgery. She is at home now. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

10/19/22: Memorial Service for Susan Wyatt's late husband, Randy E. Wyatt: Tuesday, October 25, 2022, 11:00 am, St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Ln, Bella Vista AR 72715. Per Susan's niece "It is Susan’s wish to not have flowers or donations, but simply attend the service if you are able to share in saying goodbye to this amazing person." 9/7/22: Marianne Smyth’s mother-in-law passed away Monday, Sept 5th, after complications from a fall. Our thoughts and prayers are for Marianne and Bob at this time of loss.

8/28/22: Pat Slatton's husband passed away Friday night. Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers.

8/26/22: Former member Barbara Henderson passed away on Thursday, August 25th. She was a long- time member of the WGC and was the 2014 Hall of Fame recipient. 8/2/22: Rhonda Butz, a new member, lost her husband Ric on Friday, July 29, due to a sudden heart attack. Her sister and children are here with her helping with funeral plans. She hopes to get back out playing golf soon. In the meantime, please keep her in your prayers. A Celebration of Life for Ric will be held this Saturday, August 6, 2:00pm at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715. 7/26/22: Mary Hunt's husband passed away Thursday night after complications from a fall. She has been a caretaker for a while and will take off the rest of the season to spend time with family. She plans to return to the WGC next season.

7/8/22: Laurie Pike had surgery on the 5th and will not be able to play golf until the middle of August. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

6/28/22: Memorial for Linda Roberts' husband, Dewey, will be held Saturday, July 2nd, at 11:00 am at BV Community Church.

6/26/22: Our dear member, Linda Roberts, has recently lost her beloved husband, Dewey, on Friday, June 24th. Please remember her and the family in your prayers. Cards and condolences are welcomed and appreciated.

6/24/22: Susan Wyatt's son passed recently. Please keep her and Randy in your prayers. Cards would be appreciated, but no phone calls please.

6/17/22: Sandy Collins had a golf cart accident during golf on Tuesday when she was thrown out of the cart, face down on to the ground. She had 2 teeth knocked out and scraped her arm and leg. She will need to have dental work done once she is somewhat recovered. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

5/26/22: Gayle Placial: Update from the gal herself! "I've decided to stay one more day at Mercy Hospital. Still have some minor pain, but otherwise feeling much better. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!!" UPDATE to UPDATE: "Change in plans. I'm being discharged today, Thursday! Woo hoo."

5/23/22: From Mary Riordan: "Gayle Placial had her surgery today for kidney stones. The doctor was able to remove all the stones and she is recovering. She is in Mercy Hospital and will be there for a couple of days. She is in room 647, but very groggy right now so please do not call. Danny said she is doing fine. Cards would be appreciated."

5/10/22: Sher Barns' brother-in-law passed away over the weekend. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

5/6/22: From Mary Riordan: "I just got word that the Draglands are home and Rosalie is resting. The surgery went well but she needs to rest up for a while. Give her a couple of days before calling as she needs her rest. Cards would be appreciated."

5/2/22: Good news on Marilyn Fabits from Mary Riordan: "I spoke too soon. They are moving her to room 475 and out of ICU. That is good news."

5/2/22: Update on Marilyn Fabits from Mary Riordan: "I just got home from visiting Marilyn at Mercy Hospital. She is still in the ICU and may be for a day or two more as she has a respiratory infection and was having trouble breathing. She looks good and she was sitting up and watching TV. She will be able to play golf again in 3 weeks! She has a cell phone 479-899-2017 if you want to give her a short call or you can go and visit. You must wear a mask in the hospital. Keep her in your prayers and pray for a speedy recovery."

4/29/22: Marilyn Fabits had emergency surgery last night (after finishing 18 holes of golf and taking 3rd low gross in her flight!) at Mercy Hospital for a descending aortic aneurism. She is in room 448 and is resting comfortably. It looks like the surgery was successful and after a few days, Marilyn should be released from the hospital. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

4/29/22: Former member, Rosalie Dragland, will have surgery in Little Rock on May 3 to take care of the facial pain she has been having. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We hope to have her playing with us again soon!

4/16/22: Beloved and longtime WGC member Lois Wisler passed away peacefully in her sleep recently. She was 104! Lois and good friend Bonnie Streck moved to Arizona years ago but we have never forgotten either of them. They are WGC legends.

4/13/22: Sher Barns thanks all for the kind words, cards, and prayers over the past few weeks during the passing of her mom.

3/31/22: Sher Barns' mother passed away today at the Iowa Veterans Home. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

3/18/22: From Susan Nuttall - On February 28th, John and I were biking on the Razorback Trail. John hit a patch of ice in the shade of the Pinnacle Hills bridge. He took a fall that resulted in a broken femur near the hip and a broken clavicle. After surgery on his leg and a week in the rehab facility, John is home now. He will probably be in a wheelchair for about 4 weeks and it will take about 8 weeks for his shoulder to heal. He is off most of the serious pain meds and is getting more mobile each day. Many thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.

3/18/22: Lynn Muirhead, a former member, has passed away. No details are available, but keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

3/17/22: Sher Barns' 99-year-old mother has been given only a few weeks to live. Please keep Sher and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she heads up to Iowa on Saturday to spend the last few weeks with her mom.

2/17/22: Several updates on some of our members:

Connie Kuske - recovering nicely from her Watchman heart implant. She hopes to see us all on the golf course soon

Louise Degroot - Still recovering from Shingles. She has appreciated our thoughts and prayers

Barb Tiedemann - has returned home to Bella Vista. She thanks her friends in the WGC for their warm thoughts and prayers.

Diana Watts - moved to Wisconsin last August. She is settled in nicely. She misses Bella Vista and her friends in the WGC.

2/4/22: It is with great sadness we report that Barb Tiedemann's husband Greg, passed away last night, 2/03/22. As previously reported he had a heart attack while in Texas on January 23rd and has been battling pneumonia and kidney issues since. He was still in Cardiac ICU in Texas when he lost his battle. 2/1/22: Barb Tiedemann's husband, Greg, is in the Cardiac ICU at McAllen Heart Hospital South Texas Health Systems. Continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

1/25/22: Barb Tiedemann's husband, Greg, had a heart attack last Sunday and after surgery he is experiencing additional complications. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

12/30/21: Former longtime member Jane Bailey passed away recently, in Kansas City. It is known that she suffered from Parkinson's disease. Cause of death not known. Please keep her husband Cecil and her children in your prayers.
